Lionel Messi’s security was “finally defeated” when the Inter Miami star was grabbed by a pitch invader.
Last night, the Argentine icon was participating in a friendly match versus Sporting San Miguelito of Panama.
As usual, Messi’s well-known bodyguard was spotted patrolling the side of the field, ready to attack any fan attempting to run onto the field to take a selfie with their favorite player.
By “spawning out of nowhere” and tackling fans, the security guard has earned a reputation.
However, he was unexpectedly struck and knocked to the ground for the first time in his life.
Last night, a fan in a Messi No. 10 shirt rushed out of the stands and ran in the direction of the former Barcelona and PSG player.
In the end, he slipped and avoided the bodyguard’s tackle, knocking out his leg and unintentionally sending him sliding to the deck as well.
The fan got back up and managed to give Messi a quick embrace before the security guard pulled him away.
One startled fan wrote, “Someone finally defeated Messi’s bodyguard.”
Then someone else said, “That slide tackle had been practiced for sure.”
“Roy Keane would be so proud of that tackle,” jokingly said the third.
Yassine Chueko, a former US Army soldier, is Messi’s bodyguard.
He was a Navy Seal who deployed in Afghanistan and Iraq.
It is said that David Beckham, the owner of Inter Miami, suggested Chueko to Messi.
He is said to be in charge of a 50-man team that works nonstop to guarantee the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner is always protected.
