IMPORTANT MEETING: Deputy Speaker Tayebwa Encourages Andre Onana to Strengthen Man United’s Bond with Ugandan Fans 🌍⚽

Uganda’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa, and his son, Timothy Tayebwa, engaged with Manchester United goalkeeper Andrey Onana on Sunday morning. Onana is in Uganda for Cameroon’s AFCON qualifier match against neighboring Kenya on Monday.

The meeting between Tayebwa and Onana occurred at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, where the West African national team is staying ahead of Cameroon’s crucial Group J match.

During their conversation, Tayebwa emphasized Uganda’s passionate Manchester United fan base, encouraging Onana to advocate for a visit from the legendary football club.

“Together with my son, we had an exciting interaction with @AndreyOnana this morning. The @ManUtd goalkeeper is in Uganda for their @DiskiAfrika qualifier match against @Harambee__Stars of Kenya,” Hon Tayebwa shared on Sunday morning.

As passionate @ManUtd fans, we are thrilled to see an African representing our continent at the world’s biggest football club. I’m pleased with how well he has settled in, and we are praying for his success,” he continued.

“On a lighter note, I jokingly mentioned that I would look into whether he has relatives in Uganda, as the Bakiga people originated from Cameroon. I’m also excited about the invitation he extended to me and my son to watch him play live at Old Trafford.

Cameroon, known as the Indomitable Lions, arrived in Uganda on Saturday, prepared to take on the Harambee Stars at Mandela Stadium on Monday.

This visit to Kampala marks their second trip to Uganda in recent months, following a match against Zimbabwe that attracted thousands of fans last month.
