Carlos Baleba’s hilarious victory celebration was captured on camera after Brighton’s impressive win over Manchester United.
The Seagulls secured a comfortable 3-1 victory at Old Trafford on Sunday, further deepening the woes of the struggling Red Devils.
Goals from Yankuba Minteh, Kaoru Mitoma, and Georginio Rutter clinched all three points for Fabian Hurzeler’s team. Bruno Fernandes had briefly equalized for United with a penalty, but Brighton dominated the second half.
After the final whistle, the jubilant atmosphere among Brighton’s players spilled into the Old Trafford tunnel. In a video shared on Brighton’s social media, Baleba was seen dancing his way toward the dressing room.
The 21-year-old midfielder showcased his moves by performing ‘the griddy,’ tapping his heels and swinging his arms for the camera, while a visibly disappointed Fernandes walked behind him, unable to hide his smile at the celebration.
Baleba started the match and played a key role until he was substituted for debutant Diego Gomez in stoppage time, despite receiving a yellow card just 21 minutes in. His presence on the pitch proved crucial as he helped lead the Seagulls to this historic victory.
Brighton has now won their last three Premier League matches at Old Trafford, becoming only the second team to achieve this feat, alongside their bitter rivals Manchester City.
Meanwhile, United has suffered six losses in their last seven league encounters with Brighton. The latest defeat leaves Ruben Amorim’s side in 13th place, marking their tenth loss in the first 22 matches. In contrast, Brighton sits ninth, just four points away from the Champions League spots with 16 games remaining.
