Manchester United are 'planning to raid Birmingham for Jude ...

At just 19, Bellingham has been instrumental for Sunderland this season, contributing to their push for promotion as they sit in the play-off spots under manager Regis Le Bris. Crystal Palace may view him as a valuable addition to their midfield, following successful acquisitions like Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton from lower leagues.

Bellingham developed through the Birmingham City academy, following in the footsteps of his brother Jude, and made 26 appearances for the first team. Sunderland brought him on board in 2023, and he has since played 69 matches, scoring 11 goals. The Black Cats are keen to retain him during the current season. Manchester United is exploring potential options, with Ruben Amorim’s team recently drawing 2-2 against Liverpool at Anfield.

Having extended his contract with Sunderland until 2028 in August, the club is under no immediate pressure to sell and can wait for a suitable offer. After signing the extension, Bellingham expressed his excitement about staying at Sunderland, emphasizing his commitment to the club and its supporters. He stated, “I feel like I have a lot of unfinished business and I believe we can achieve some great things this season.”

Sunderland’s sporting director, Kristjaan Speakman, echoed this sentiment, noting Bellingham’s strong connection to the area and fans. He mentioned that while they intended to extend Bellingham’s contract, the player’s impressive performance in his first season naturally attracted interest from other clubs. Despite this, Bellingham has consistently affirmed his desire to remain at Sunderland.
