Kylian Mbappe delivered an outstanding attacking effort, and the rest of the Real Madrid attack buzzed around him as Los Blancos cruised to a 4-2 victory over an admittedly mediocre Sevilla team. The Frenchman scored the opening goal and assisted on the other three, making this perhaps his greatest performance in white to yet. Carlo Ancelotti will be frustrated that his team conceded twice, but this was an incredibly efficient attacking effort.

Madrid quickly found their flow. Los Blancos were in control from the start, and it was surprising that the opening goal did not come before the 10-minute mark. It was a fantastic one, though. Mbappe delivered the first, an unbelievable smash into the top corner from outside the box.

The second came soon after, with Federico Valverde blasting in from outside the box following a well-executed corner routine. Rodrygo made it three in about 34 minutes, capping a fantastic team goal with a smooth finish.

However, there was a glitch for Madrid, with Isaac Romero drawing one back after getting dangerously close to a simple cross and header. However, this proved to be little more than an irritation. Brahim Diaz scored the fourth, redeeming an otherwise quiet performance with a wonderful combination and dink that put the game out of reach. Following that, Los Blancos finished the game. Mbappe had a number of half-chances, and more incisive passing could have resulted in a chance or two. Nonetheless, they had little impact on what was otherwise

Goalkeeper & Defense: Thibaut Courtois (6/10)

Aside from the two goals, there isn’t much to accomplish. Perhaps the second goal could have been denied.

Lucas Vazquez (7/10):

He spent most of his time in the attacking third and never stopped running.

Aurelien Tchouameni (6.0/10):

Much improved at centre back, particularly in terms of box defence. Not a long-term answer, but better.

Antonio Rudiger(7/10):

He lost track of his man on Sevilla’s goal, but otherwise was as steady as usual.

Eduardo Camavinga (6/10):

He returned to left back, where he appeared to be very comfortable.

Midfielder Dani Ceballos (6/10):

Composed near the base of the midfield. I kept it tidy and ensured that the ball moved.

Federico Valverde 7/10:

Gabbed his fifth goal of the year, ate up ground. Quality.

Jude Bellingham (8/10):

Wonderful throughout. Showed excellent work rate, and made all kinds of dangerous runs.

Brahim Diaz (7/10):

Sparingly involved before capping off a delightful team goal to make it four.
