Manchester United Crumble as Bournemouth Run Riot at Old Trafford
Manchester United endured another humiliating defeat as Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth cruised to a 3-0 victory at Old Trafford, marking United’s third loss in six Premier League matches.
The tone was set early when the Red Devils conceded yet another goal from a set piece. Dean Huijsen rose unchallenged to nod home a first-half free-kick, exposing United’s defensive vulnerabilities. While Bruno Fernandes led a spirited attempt to equalize before the break, the Cherries returned in the second half with ruthless determination.
In a disastrous two-minute spell, Noussair Mazraoui fouled Justin Kluivert in the box, with the Dutchman converting the penalty to double Bournemouth’s lead. Moments later, Antoine Semenyo tore through United’s frail defense to hammer home a third past Andre Onana, capping off a dominant performance.
For manager Ruben Amorim, this defeat—his heaviest since taking the helm—highlights the growing crisis at the club. With three losses in six games and mounting pressure, questions are intensifying about United’s ability to rebound under new ownership and management.
Meanwhile, Iraola’s Bournemouth showcased their energy and relentless style, leaving Old Trafford with a well-deserved victory and raising their standing as a rising force in the Premier League.

Goalkeeper & Defence
Andre Onana (5/10):
Didn’t get close to any of the goals and his slowness to get the ball out of his hands wound up United fans.
Noussair Mazraoui (4/10):
Was looking solid and United’s best defender until he lost his head and dived in on Kluivert, effectively throwing the game away.
Harry Maguire (5/10):
A big comedown from his imperious performance against City.
Lisandro Martinez (5/10):
Given a tough time by Semenyo. Played some good passes but they came to nothing.
Midfield
Diogo Dalot (5/10):
Worked hard but didn’t have much impact on either wing.
Manuel Ugarte (5/10):
Struggled to move the ball around the pitch with any fluidity. Hooked early as he was on a booking.
Kobbie Mainoo (6/10):
One of the few United players to look up for it. Was driving forward and dribbling around defenders with purpose, threatening to equalise before dropping off in the second half.
Tyrell Malacia (4/10):
Gave away the free-kick leading to the first goal. Had some promising combinations with Zirkzee down the flank but they led to nothing.
Attack
Amad Diallo (5/10):
Managed to make a few things happen but lacked the magic he produced at the Etihad Stadium.
Joshua Zirkzee (4/10):
Lost Huijsen for the goal. Lost the physical battle and couldn’t make much happen. Predictably removed early in the second half.
Bruno Fernandes (6/10):
Tried to be the hero and took matters into his own hands with three shots in the first half. Desperately needs more help from his team-mates.
Subs & Manager
Leny Yoro (5/10):
Misplaced a few passes and was twisted inside out in build up to the second goal.
Rasmus Hojlund (5/10):
Had some nice combinations and flashed two shots wide.
Alejandro Garnacho (5/10):
Bungled a clear opportunity on the break by shooting straight at Kepa.
Ruben Amorim (4/10):
The honeymoon is officially over. Starting Malacia was a bad move and his changes made things worse. He has fewer points from his six Premier League games (seven) than Erik ten Hag had in his last six.
