Rodrygo, who netted a spectacular goal early in the second half, expressed his delight in the post-match media conference, particularly praising his teammate Vinicius Jr., who was awarded the Golden Ball for his outstanding performance.
“He is getting better and better, and we are thrilled to have him on our team. We have a fantastic squad, and we’re very happy,” the Brazilian said about his compatriot.
Reflecting on his own goal, which underwent a VAR review to confirm that Jude Bellingham was not interfering from an offside position, Rodrygo shared his emotions:
“I’m very happy for another title and another goal in a final with this shirt. Bellingham was in front of the goalkeeper, but he didn’t interfere with the play. I felt a rush of emotions until the goal was confirmed.”
Despite a challenging start to the season due to injuries, Rodrygo expressed optimism about his current condition:
“I feel good now. It has been tough because of the injuries I’ve faced. I was sidelined for a month, then returned for a match and got injured again. It’s been difficult, but I’m feeling better physically. I need to continue working and resting to support the team.”
On the topic of his injury struggles, he added, “You want to be available and help the team, but injuries can hold you back. It’s been tough, but everyone supported me through this process.”
“Now I feel good, and I hope to keep improving every day. I know that when I’m fit, I can contribute in many ways,” he concluded.
