Vinicius Junior of Real Madrid has been named the FIFA Best Men’s Player of the Year.
Vini Jr. helped Madrid win the Champions League, LaLiga, and the Spanish and European Super Cups under Carlo Ancelotti during an extraordinary 2023-24 season.
He scored 24 goals and assisted 11 times, with notable performances include his goal in the Champions League final and a sensational hat-trick against Barcelona in the domestic Super Cup.
This distinction comes after he and his teammates decided to skip the Ballon d’Or event in October, knowing that Manchester City’s Rodri would win.
“It seemed impossible to reach this stage…” “I came from a humble background, surrounded by poverty and crime, and now I’m here,” stated the Brazilian singer.
Rodri finished second in the voting, with Jude Bellingham taking third place.

The Brazilian was essential in Real Madrid’s victories at home and throughout the continent.
Vinicius Jr. received the FIFA Best Men’s Player title for his achievements between August 21, 2023 and August 10, 2024.
The shortlist began with 11 nominations, including Jude Bellingham as the only English representative, before being voted on by national team coaches, captains, football writers, and fans.
This is Vini Jr’s first triumph, succeeding Lionel Messi, who won the previous two seasons but was not nominated this year. The award has been in its current shape since 2016, evolving from the previous FIFA World Player of the Year, and its history frequently diverges from that of the Ballon d’Or.
