Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain after a dramatic week. The forward, who has been at the club for 20 years and netted 143 goals, was excluded from the matchday squad during United’s 2-1 derby win over Manchester City.
On Monday, Rashford reported to Carrington for assessment after feeling unwell, per club policy, and was sent home with a high temperature. However, just a day later, the 27-year-old was seen visiting his old primary school, handing out 420 presents in a gesture that delighted students.
During the visit, Rashford dropped a bombshell, revealing to journalist Henry Winter that he feels ready to leave Old Trafford.
“For me, personally, I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” Rashford said. “When I leave, it’s going to be no hard feelings. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United.”
His remarks come amid growing speculation about his future, with the club reportedly open to offers for the England international, who still has over three years left on his lucrative contract.

“That’s me. I will always be a Red.”
Marcus Rashford’s surprising statement followed his omission from Manchester United’s 2-1 derby win at the Etihad under new boss Ruben Amorim.
The Portuguese manager also left Alejandro Garnacho out of the squad, later clarifying his decision by stating that he “pays attention to everything,” from players’ attire to their interactions with teammates. Amorim’s gamble paid off as United staged a thrilling late comeback with goals from Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo.
Despite the snub, Amorim emphasized that the door remains open for Rashford and Garnacho to regain their places in the team. However, Rashford missed Monday’s training session due to illness, missing an opportunity to make his case.
Reports from Mail Sport suggest United are open to selling the England international, with a price tag of around £40 million. This comes despite Rashford still having over three years left on his lucrative £315,000-a-week contract, signed last year.
