Manchester United endured a heartbreaking 2-3 defeat against Nottingham Forest. The entire squad didn’t play well, but most supporters blame Andre Onana, who was defeated by Nikola Milenkovic’s header and made a mistake that allowed Morgan Gibbs-White to score.
However, some fans say it isn’t even the worst thing Onana did during the game. Mason Mount was fouled a few meters from the midway line in the 90th minute and six minutes. Outfield players left the ball for Onana to send it into the box; however, Andre attempted to cheat by placing the ball around 10 meters away from where the foul occurred.
The referee noticed it and told Onana to put the ball back – however, it took Onana 30 seconds to do it. All this time he was arguing with the referee and rolling the ball a few meters back at a time. This episode ate up around 40 seconds – the time Man United players really could use to score an equaliser.
Understandably, fans are furious because of Onana’s actions here:
The first person said: “Almost 40 seconds lost after the whistle was blown lol”
The second fans continue: “Onana waste an entire minute with the ball instead of just placing it where the referee instructed him to. A bunch of bottlers.”
Another one express: “Meaninglessly puts the ball forward 1-2 meters away even though the referee warns him not to. Repeats it 4-5 times. What a clown”
The fourth comments: “Onana is absolutely pathetic. Look at how many times the referee had to tell him to put the ball back”
One even admitted he wanted to hit his television after watching the incident, saying: “I was about to punch the TV screen.”
