A new story says that Arsenal is now ahead of several other European teams in the race to sign an exciting player who will be free in 2025. They want to keep trying to win the Premier League.
Arsenal is back on track after a rough patch in the Premier League. Micheal Arteta’s team beat high-flying Nottingham Forest 3-0 to get back to winning ways in north London.
The Gunners had a rough patch before the November international break. The Premier League title contenders had only won two of their last seven games in all competitions, and they hadn’t won in the Premier League since early October, when they beat Southampton 3-1.
Because they lost to Newcastle and Bournemouth and tied with Chelsea and Liverpool, they were far behind in the race for the Premier League title.
But their most recent win, along with Manchester City’s 4-0 loss to Tottenham, brought Arsenal within a point of the City fans. However, they are still a long way behind Liverpool, who are currently leading the Premier League.
Arteta and his team will be looking for a run of form like the ones Manchester City has had over the last two seasons, since they have a good run of games coming up. They want to beat City to the top spot.
Arsenal is in the lead to sign Spanish players
This is what Caught Offside says. They say that Arsenal is ahead of Barcelona, Juventus, and PSG in the race to sign Antonio Cordero, a young star player from Malaga.
The teenage star is now playing in La Liga 2, where he got the goal that put Malaga back in the second level of Spanish football. He is only 18 years old, but he has scored three goals and set up three others in 13 games for the south coast team this season. Several of Europe’s best teams are interested in him.
People in Spain think he has a lot of promise. Rising Stars XI praised his “world-class” performance against local rivals Granada and called him “a very technically gifted winger, a great shot creator, and very fast.”
Even though he is right-footed, he can play on either side of the attack. His deal ends this summer, so he could leave for free in a few months.
And Caught Offside say that “Arsenal have been courting” the youth and are in the lead, but they “face stiff competition for the player’s signature.” The report suggests that a move could happen in January as Malaga try to get money for their star player.
The Gunners probably wouldn’t take a big risk with any move they made, since Cordero isn’t likely to join the first team right away with all the other wide players they already have. Raheem Sterling, Leandro Trossard, Gabriel Jesus, and regular starters Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz can all play on the front line. Also, Arteta is already trying to bring in a young talent in the form of Ethan Nwaneri, so Cordero probably won’t get much playing time if he stays in north London.
For a low price, the Spaniard could join, but he might be sent out on loan to get more experience before being brought in full-time.
