Martin Odegaard will give Arsenal a huge help when he comes back against Inter Milan, but Declan Rice wasn’t with the team that went to Milan.
Odegaard went to Arsenal’s London Colney base on Tuesday morning to train with his teammates. He hasn’t played since September because of an ankle injury.
It is also known that Odegaard will go to Milan before Wednesday’s Champions League game at San Siro. But Rice hasn’t gone to Italy yet; he’s just being safe ahead of Sunday’s very important London game against Chelsea.
Odegaard, 25, is the captain of Arsenal. He has missed his team’s last 12 games because of an injury he got while playing for Norway.
He will be back soon, which is great for Arsenal because they are now seven points behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race. It’s not clear how many minutes he will play against the Italian champs, though.
Mikel Arteta’s team has had a good start to their European season. They tied at Atalanta away from home before beating Paris Saint-Germain and Shakhtar Donetsk at home.
When Arteta talks to the media at San Siro on Tuesday evening, he is expected to give more information about Odegaard’s availability.
