Wales Online says McDonald’s encourages kids to read and play football during the Easter break.
In addition to his achievements on the field, Liverpool player Virgil van Dijk seems to be able to deliver a McDonald’s to your car.
The Dutch defender has been actively involved in the community since January 2018, when he moved from Southampton to Liverpool for £75 million. However, those heading to Kirkby McDonald’s this week for some quick lunch would not have anticipated seeing the 6′ 5in center-back in the drive-thru window.
Van Dijk is shown on social media helping the McDonald’s staff by guiding orders through the window. As was to be expected, a crowd soon gathered, with kids glued to the glass in the hopes of catching a close-up of the Liverpool player.
According to Mirror Online, Virgil van Dijk was observed serving McFlurrys at the drive-thru McDonald’s in Liverpool.
Then a dish of McFlurrys was given to Van Dijk, who was dressed in jeans, sneakers, and a casual pullover, to share with the waiting crowd. Many comments were made online by fans who were confused by his McDonald’s appearance.
He was able to make Maccies’ ice cream maker work. “He really can do anything,” a pundit joked. Another said, “Getting a Mcflurry off Virgil.” This chemical creates dreams.
Liverpool employee Virgil van Dijk was observed working there.
Although the 32-year-old’s reason for being there is unknown, it doesn’t seem likely that he has changed his career path prior to Sunday’s season-ending encounter between Liverpool and Southampton.
More likely, his previous job at the rapid foot retailer had an impact on his appearance. Earlier this year, Van Dijk took part in the company’s Fun Football and Happy Readers activities, which encouraged children to read.
At a McDonald’s, Virgil van Dijk was seen amusingly distributing McFlurries.
Van Dijk acknowledged that Liverpool is a special place, stating, “I love being able to give back to the community that supports us so passionately.” I genuinely believe that every child should have the chance to play and learn, just like McDonald’s does. I’m here today because my family and I are really enthusiastic about this topic.
While fans assemble to see the great defender DaveOCKOP, Virgil van Dijk is seen serving customers at McDonald’s.
“McDonald’s is helping families by giving them more opportunities to get free books and free coaching for Fun Football.”We gave away nearly 3,000 books to children today alone, and from what I saw in the reading room and on the field, it looks like we may be dealing with some future writers and football players.
“This week, I had a great time surprising the local kids at a @mcdonaldsuk @funfootballuk x #HappyReaders event,” he also posted on Instagram. We witnessed many grins on their faces, read a little, and played a little football.
“I was present to support McDonald’s ongoing commitment to provide 10 million books and 2 million hours of #FunFootball to families each year, which is extremely beneficial for the community.”
