Liverpool ‘are beginning to accept that Trent Alexander-Arnold will LEAVE the club’ with his deal up in the summer – and he could be gone ‘as early as January’ with Real Madrid eager to sign Anfield hero

According to a source, Liverpool is starting to acknowledge that Trent Alexander-Arnold will not sign a new deal with the team and will likely leave shortly.

At the end of the current campaign, the Reds defender’s contract expires, and there has been much conjecture about what will happen to him going forward, despite the lack of movement in contract talks.

He has been a member of the team for his whole career, developing into one of the best passers in international football. Over the past few months, Madrid has made it clear that they are interested in signing him.

Although he may still sign a new contract with Anfield, it appears increasingly likely that he will depart. The 26-year-old is free to talk to other teams in January and may leave the team on a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.

Marca claims that Arne Slot’s team is becoming more and more concerned that a new agreement won’t be reached, with Real Madrid closely monitoring the situation.

Carlo Ancelotti's Real Madrid are looking for a solution at right back amid Dani Carvajal's injury

Real Madrid, under Carlo Ancelotti, is searching for a right back replacement in light of Dani Carvajal’s injury.

The source claims that Madrid has been getting ready for January’s business for some time, and that lately, activity has picked up due of the international break.

Madrid is rumored to think that Liverpool would be open to doing business in January in order to recover any amount of money for one of their key players.

Not only is Alexander-Arnold a cause for concern, but Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah also have contracts expiring at the end of the year.

When Salah implied early in the season that there had been no conversations and that there was still no indication of an agreement with any of the three players, it was practically a plea for talks.

Salah signed in 2017 and Van Dijk in 2018, while Alexander-Arnold joined Liverpool in 2006.

They have combined for 957 Liverpool appearances (Alexander-Arnold 319, Van Dijk 279, Salah 359).

In Madrid’s most recent match, starting right back Dani Carvajal sustained a season-ending knee injury. As a result, manager Carlo Ancelotti is currently rushing to find a successor.

From a transfer perspective, Alexander-Arnold is the team’s top choice to take his spot, while Jeremie Frimpong and other players are also highly regarded.

Alexander-Arnold has been at Liverpool since 2004 having made his way through youth ranks

Alexander-Arnold went through the youth ranks before joining Liverpool in 2004.

However, given Liverpool’s limited power in the deal, doing business with Alexander-Arnold would be easier given that Frimpong’s contract with Bayer Leverkusen is anticipated to expire in 2027.But it’s thought Madrid won’t explore a winter transfer unless all internal issues are resolved.According to reports, Madrid is keen to acquire a left-footed center defender.
