BEST DECISION EVER: Liverpool set to ‘break the bank’ to secure a deal for a ‘unique’ defender – the £17 MILLION replacement for Virgil van Dijk

One of Liverpool’s better acquisitions in the Premier League era has been the defender Virgil van Dijk, but he may be moving next year.

Van Dijk, one of the top center backs in the world, has a contract that expires at the end of this season, and Saudi Arabian teams are already interested in signing him. He may decide to move to the Middle East rather than stay in the Premier League.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah in the same situation as Van Dijk, there could be some huge changes at Liverpool next summer if all three players decide to leave, with the 33-year-old defender a figure that will be hard to replace.

However, Liverpool might now sign a replacement for a very low cost.

Potential £17 million price tag for Loic Bade, a target for Liverpool
Mundo Deportivo reports that Sevilla will not consider bids for Loic Bade that are less than €20 million (£17 million). According to the report, Liverpool is considering Bade as a possible 2025 successor for Van Dijk.
Breaking The Lines described Bade as a defender who has had a “bizarre” career. Since joining Sevilla, Bade has excelled, and the 24-year-old center-back is currently a member of the France senior team after leading Les Bleus to victory at the Olympics this summer.
With the Reds already in the market for another central defender, signing the Sevilla star for as little as £17m could be a tempting proposition for the Anfield side, with Liverpool already linked with a move for Bade.
Though it’s likely that Sevilla will expect a sum more in line with Bade’s exit option given his £42 million release clause, Liverpool may be willing to meet this demand in their pursuit of Van Dijk’s replacement.

Van Dijk’s replacement could be nearly impossible for Liverpool.
Since moving to Liverpool in 2018, Van Dijk has been among the finest defenders in the world, and throughout the next six years, the Dutch international has been crucial to the Reds’ ascent to prominence.
Since Van Dijk is still among the finest in the game at his position and is capable of performing at the highest level for the next several years, Liverpool may find it difficult to replace the former Southampton defender.
Even if Liverpool made an amazing move this summer to replace Jurgen Klopp with Arne Slot, finding a replacement could be challenging for the Reds.
