According to a recent Spanish rumor, Liverpool has reportedly set its eyes on signing Real Madrid star Rodrygo.

The Brazilian has had tremendous success at the Spanish capital in the past few years since moving from Santos to the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in 2019. He has won numerous La Liga and Champions League medals in addition to various other important events.

But even though he established himself as a vital member of Los Blancos, the 23-year-old has been linked to leaving the team ever since Kylian Mbappe joined in the summer.

The South American was interested in joining with Liverpool this summer, but the deal fell through, and he decided to stay at Real Madrid.

According to Defensa Central (via Fichajes), the Reds are still interested in signing Rodrygo and have identified him as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who may leave Anfield at the end of the current campaign because he is in the final year of his contract.

Rodrygo to the LiverpoolAccording to reports this summer, Real Madrid sought roughly £134 million to allow their top player to depart, and Liverpool is willing to “make a large investment” to entice Rodrygo to Anfield.

According to the source, the Merseyside club will have difficulty closing this deal because Real Madrid is eager to hang onto the forward, even though he is prepared to stay with Los Blancos.

Since the 23-year-old can play anywhere in the front line, he may take Salah’s spot should the Egyptian depart Liverpool and Rodrygo sign before the 2019–20 campaign begins.

Technically sound, the South American can dribble past opposing defenders in confined spaces, link plays, take set pieces efficiently, create opportunities for other attackers, and finish off his opportunities.

Rodrygo has not yet reached his prime and is still extremely young. He is already a world-class player that fits in well with any elite squad in the globe.

It will be intriguing to watch whether the Merseyside team decides in 2025 to formally declare their desire in acquiring the Real Madrid player in order to bolster the attacking unit.
