Martin Odegaard’s ankle injury recuperation has accelerated. The Arsenal captain intends to return to action shortly.

 

 

During the international break, Odegaard continued to recuperate, as seen in a video that Arsenal shared on social media. The Gunners’ skipper was observed operating an AlterG anti-gravity device.

“What a day,” he remarks in the video. “Activating the AlterG.” Incredible. Last month, while on Norway’s international service, Odegaard sustained an injury. In the last seven games in all competitions for Arsenal, he has not participated.

 

Before Arsenal defeated Southampton 3-1 over the weekend, the midfield player provided an encouraging update on his recuperation. “I just wanted to start with the latest on my injury and rehab,” he wrote in the matchday program.

“In the last week or so, I’ve made a lot of progress.” I feel better every day and believe that everything is going nicely. When things seem to be moving in the right way, you want to do more and put in more effort.

 

Our final game before the next international break is today. I can now spend more time working on my body as a result. The more time that passes, the better. Once I return to the training fields and observe how my ankle responds, I believe we will have more information.

“Though it appears better than we anticipated and is going well right now, we still need to take each day as it comes.” For Arteta, providing a “timeline” for Odegaard’s return was “difficult.”

Before the Southampton game, he declared, “Martin is very difficult. I expected still with the boot and a lot of things. He’s working so hard, feeling good, and is pushing it so it’s difficult to give a timeline.”
