According to reports, Neymar will pay an incredible £7 million to buy his own private island off the coast of Brazil.
After sustaining an ACL injury that has kept him out of action for almost a year, Neymar has had plenty of time for extracurricular activities. It appears he has been passing the time by finding new residences. The Sun claims that the Al-Hilal forward is nearing the purchase of Japao Private Island, a tropical retreat off the coast of Angra dos Reis.
After the island’s owner reportedly lowered the asking price by more than £3 million, Neymar reportedly showed interest in purchasing the property. Reached exclusively by boat or helicopter, the six-acre retreat boasts three sea-view cottages, a koi fish pond, and a main villa with two master suites. “The sweeping views of the ocean and the mystical landscape of the island make this an incredibly special place to find some solitude,” one visitor commented in an online review.
Brazilian journalist Leo Dias claims that Neymar intends to do a “test drive” of the island later this month, paying more than £40,000 for its rental. Bruna Marquezine, the 32-year-old’s ex, is one of the people who had visited the island before.
The nightmare injury for Neymar is almost over. The Brazilian may have to wait to actually get back into play, but he recently posted an update showing him training with his Al-Hilal teammates.
