It was said that Riccardo Calafiori was “in tears” after going down late in Saturday’s win over Leicester. This means that Arsenal may have to deal with another illness. 

After being down two goals, the Foxes came back with two goals in the second half from James Justin to tie the game. But the Gunners broke their resistance with an own goal from Wilfred Ndidi in the 94th minute, and then Kai Havertz added a fourth.

Arsenal still hasn’t lost this season after the win. They are now in third place, one point behind Liverpool, who are in first place thus far.

Calafiori worries about injury?

The Gunners will be happy that they won late in the game, but it may have cost them something.

He went to X.com and wrote:

“Some people are worried that Riccardo Calafiori hurt his knee yesterday in stoppage time.” His tears were said to have been real after the game.

Arsenal is already missing their leader Martin Odegaard, as well as Oleksandr Zinchenko, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Mike Merino. They will be hoping very hard that Calafiori is okay.

The player from Italy joined the Emirates from Bologna this summer in a deal that could be worth up to £42 million.

This season, the 22-year-old has played four times in the Premier League and got a great goal in the recent 2-2 draw against Manchester City.

The fact that Calafiori can play both left-back and center back makes him an important player for Mikel Arteta’s team.

It looks like he’ll spend most of his time at left-back, where he won’t be able to beat William Saliba or Gabriel, who has made a strong partnership.

In a very important Champions League game on Tuesday night, the Gunners will host Paris Saint-Germain and will hope that Calafiori can play.
