On social media, ARSENAL fans were upset that a Leicester player didn’t get a yellow card for kicking the ball away.
Player for Arsenal has been given a second yellow card twice this season for the same crime.
Declan Rice got sent off against Brighton, and last weekend, Leandro Trossard got sent off for wasting time against Manchester City.
A lot of Arsenal fans online thought that Wilfred Ndidi should have been sent off in the first half of today’s game against Leicester City.
The Nigerian got a yellow card in the 31st minute for what was said to be a hit on Riccardo Calafiori, even though it looked like he had the ball.
After only a few minutes, Ndidi was back in the middle of things.
Stephy Mavididi, one of his teammates, got a foul from the sidelines on Bukayo Saka.
Saka was on the ground, and the ball was still. Ndidi poked it a few yards over the touchline.
The boos from Arsenal fans in the stands showed that they were paying attention.
I’m not the only one who used social media to vent.
One of them yelled, “Be consistent!”
“How dare we ask for consistency,” moaned the second.
A third said, “Double standard.”
But someone else said, “That’s not stopping the game because the boy is down injured.” Why do you need to explain this again?”
At that point, Gabriel Martinelli’s goal in the 20th minute gave the Gunners a 1-0 lead.
After serving his one-game suspension in the middle of the week, Trossard doubled his team’s lead right before halftime.
In the second half, Leicester came roaring back, and James Justin’s brilliant double made the score even.
But after being through a heartbreaking goal in extra time last weekend, Arsenal scored one of their own this time.
In the 94th minute, Ndidi sadly blocked Trossard’s shot into his own net. Kai Havertz then scored a fourth goal to make it a 4-2 win.
Thanks to Mikel Arteta’s team’s win, Manchester City’s mistake earlier in the day, when they were tied 1-1 at Newcastle, let them score.
