There are rumours that Arsenal wants to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.
A lot of teams want to sign the playmaker, and Real Madrid and Manchester City are among them.
Wirtz was a big reason why Bayer Leverkusen won the Bundesliga for the first time in the club’s history last year.
They didn’t lose a single game, and they almost made it all the way to the Europa League final in Europe as well.
Wirtz stood out with 18 goals and 20 assists across all events. He then scored two goals at the Euros, one of which tied the game between Germany and Spain after Germany had already lost.
He has also had a great start to the season, scoring six goals in seven games, which has made Arsenal interested in him.
Christian Falk, a trade expert, says that Arsenal wants to sign Wirtz because he wants to leave Leverkusen next summer.
The 21-year-old, on the other hand, is worth £125 million, so the Gunners might have to spend a lot to get him.
He could cost even more because a lot of big teams want to buy him. City and Real Madrid aren’t afraid to spend a lot to get the players they want.
Berlin’s Bayern Munich is also interested in Wirtz and has been linked to the aggressive midfielder.
Jermaine Pennant, a former Arsenal young player, said that Wirtz would be great for the Gunners last season, praising his football intelligence.
Penant said, “I think Arsenal should have picked Wirtz because he is so smart about football.”
“He’s not fast, but he’s good with the ball and always seems to make the right pass.”
“He sets up great goals and makes great assists. I think he’d be a great addition to Arsenal and fit right in there.”
