Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have been steadily improving, and this week, a promising young player named Ethan Nwaneri came up for the Gunners.

You can bet that Arteta is searching for players who can offer Arsenal that extra something as they try to unseat Pep Guardiola’s Man City at the top of the Premier League.

Even though they haven’t won the English top flight in almost 20 years, the North Londoners are drawing near.

This 20-year-old has been creating headlines in the Eredivisie for all the right reasons; he is the son of the famous Dutch star Mark.

So much so that, according to TBR Football, both City and Arsenal are reportedly interested in bringing van Bommel to the Premier League.

Even while the younger van Bommel isn’t well-known in England just now, that might change. Pierre van Hooijdonk, a former star for Celtic and Nottingham Forest, is certain.

“He’s just an incredibly good player,” he said to SportNieuws.

“I think he’ll end up as a centre forward. He’s a master of everything; he’s fast, has finesse in his finishing. Last year in the KKD at MVV I saw him score a lot of goals.

“There were chips, shots and headers among them. He’s still very young and is still developing. He’ll continue to do that from the left for a while, but I think he’ll eventually move to the centre.
