Jack Porter breaks 21-year-old record at Arsenal.

In the early morning of September 26 (Hanoi time), at the age of 16 years and 82 days, Porter set a record as the youngest player ever to play in an official match for the “Gunners”.

That record was previously held by Cesc Fabregas, who made his Arsenal debut at the age of 16 years and 72 days. Twenty-one years after Cesc made Arsenal history in 2003, another youngster continues the Gunners’ trend of using young talent.

Porter was born in 2008 and is a member of the England U16 team. Earlier this season, the young goalkeeper from the foggy country was given the number 92 shirt at Arsenal. The opportunity to start against Bolton came to Porter after both of Arsenal’s top goalkeepers this season, David Raya and Neto, were unable to play.

Raya suffered a muscle injury after the 2-2 draw with Man City in round 5 of the Premier League , while Neto played for Bournemouth in the second round of the Carabao Cup at the end of August. Therefore, Neto cannot play for Arsenal in the Carabao Cup this season.

Porter had a comfortable day as Arsenal dominated their struggling League One opponents, with Bolton only managing a consolation goal early in the second half through Aaron Collins.
