Manchester United and England greats David Beckham and Gary Neville were among the star-studded crowds that watched Wrexham travel to Birmingham City in a high-flying League One match on Monday. The couple attended the game at Birmingham’s St Andrew’s at Knighthead Park stadium, along with the hosts’ co-owner Tom Brady, an NFL legend, and Wrexham’s Hollywood star owner Ryan Reynolds.
Former Real Madrid, PSG, and AC Milan player Beckham, who is currently the owner of Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami, was invited to the game by Birmingham’s ownership group, Knighthead. Beckham and Brady are business partners. David Beckham’s son, Romeo Beckham, attended the event, as did Beckham’s former Manchester United and England teammate and Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville.
Because he co-owns League Two team Salford City with former Manchester United colleagues Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, and Paul Scholes, Neville has a strong connection to the EFL. Last Tuesday, Wrexham won the Bristol Street Motors Trophy 2-1 over Neville’s Salford.
Brady and Beckham sat next to one other for the game and were spotted cheering as the Blues came back from a goal down in the first few minutes to equalise through £10 million striker Jay Stansfield before eventually leading.
