COMICAL DUO: Andy Robertson and Darwin Nunez burst into laughter on the sidelines after Ibrahima Konate scored the opening goal for Liverpool in their Champions League match against AC Milan

Andy Robertson and Darwin Nunez lost their cool on the sidelines when Ibrahima Konate gave Liverpool their first goal against AC Milan in the Champions League.

Darwin Nunez and Andy Robertson celebrated Ibrahima Konate’s goal against AC Milan Friday night, demonstrating the team spirit among the Liverpool players.

In what should have been one of their toughest games of the new league phase, Liverpool fell down to a goal from Christian Pulisic but came back with three goals without answering to win 3-1.

TV cameras caught Nunez and Robertson, the substitutes, high-fiving each other and laughing uncontrollably after Konate’s goal in the first half. It’s possible that one of them had predicted that Liverpool would score from the corner just moments before.

A”Look at the reaction of these two… they might have had a bet on?” Jamie Carragher joked as the clip was replayed by CBS Sports. “Are you allowed? Obviously not…”

It looked as though Liverpool was in for a tough night when Pulisic gave the hosts the lead in the third minute, but the Reds didn’t panic and recorded a result that was thoroughly deserved.

Praising his side for bouncing back, Arne Slot said during his post-match press conference: “In the first five minutes we also lost the ball from two choices that were not the best to make and then they could counter-attack us.

“Afterwards we dominated possession even more and that didn’t lead to counter-attacks from them. Although it sounds weird to say that we started well if you concede two chances, but we took control of the ball from the start of the game. Except from the first five minutes where they had two counter-attacks, I think we dominated possession and created chances as well.”
