Martin Odegaard, a star player for Arsenal, was seen getting on a private jet while using crutches. This is a worrying sign of his injury before Sunday’s derby against Tottenham.
The leader of Arsenal’s football team hurt his ankle while playing for Norway against Austria.
After a 50/50 battle with Christoph Baumgartner, Odegaard lost and was left writhing in pain.
Helene Spilling, his pregnant lover, was in the crowd and looked worried when it became clear that Odegaard could not go on.
He finally left the pitch in tears, and teammates like Erling Haaland tried to comfort him.
Odegaard is now a big question for this weekend’s important game against rivals Tottenham. His doctor in Norway, Ola Sand, said, “He is on his way to London and will have an MRI there later today.”
“(What do I think?) Nothing but a strong overstep, and we’ll wait to see what Arsenal finds.”
The player left Norway’s camp on Tuesday morning to go back to London.
Odegaard took a private jet back to the city to be fully checked out by Arsenal’s medical staff.
But things don’t look good because the ace needed sticks to get around.
Odegaard looked like he was frowning as he walked up to the plane’s steps with a helper.
And Mikel Arteta will be hoping for good news as his captain gets ready to have scans done to see how bad his injury is.
The Spaniard already doesn’t have Declan Rice because he is suspended.
Meanwhile, Mikel Merino, Arsenal’s new signing, will be out for a few months because he hurt his shoulder in his first training practice after moving there in the summer.
After Norway’s manager Stale Solbakken made a bad joke about Odegaard’s loss on Monday night, Arteta is likely to be even more upset about the situation.
