Internationals: Morton, Quansah and Koumas aid victories on Monday

Three Liverpool players helped their countries win on Monday night as the September international break got underway.

In a friendly encounter played at Kenilworth Road in Luton Town, Tyler Morton and Jarell Quansah were selected to start for the England U21 side. They assisted the Young Lions in defeating Austria 4-1.

Quansah was replaced after 72 minutes of play, while Morton left the game with nine minutes remaining in the evening.

Senior-wise, Wales defeated Montenegro 2-1 to mark the debut of Lewis Koumas, who is spending the season on loan at Stoke City.

Under the direction of new manager Craig Bellamy, the attacker played the whole first half. Owen Beck, who is on loan at Blackburn Rovers, did not play in the UEFA Nations League match.

In another incident, Ibrahima Konate watched on from the sidelines as France defeated Belgium 2-0 in the Nations League.
