Internationals: Morton, Quansah and Koumas aid victories on Monday

As the September international break began on Monday night, three Liverpool players assisted their nations in winning.

Tyler Morton and Jarell Quansah were chosen to start for the England U21 team, and they helped the Young Lions defeat Austria 4-1 in a friendly match played at Kenilworth Road in Luton Town.

Quansah left the game with nine minutes left in the evening, whereas Morton played 72 minutes of the encounter before being replaced.

Senior-wise, Lewis Koumas, who is loaned to Stoke City for the season, made his Wales debut in a 2-1 victory over Montenegro.

Under the direction of new manager Craig Bellamy, the attacker played the whole first half. Owen Beck, who is on loan at Blackburn Rovers, did not play in the UEFA Nations League match.

In another incident, Ibrahima Konate watched on from the sidelines as France defeated Belgium 2-0 in the Nations League.
