The pitch invader appeared to join in the Portugal attack late in the game

Late in the game, it seemed as though the pitch invader joined the Portugal offensive.

After missing Ronaldo on his initial effort, the pitch invader had another opportunity to get close to his hero thanks to some unfortunate events involving his pursuer.

On the turf, a steward pursued the supporter but at a critical juncture, he slipped onto his posterior.

The fan was given the chance to approach Ronaldo more closely, but the former Real Madrid player declined and kept his distance.

Most people found the situation amusing, despite others being upset that Ronaldo was unable to add to his goal total after scoring his 901st goal of his career against the Scots.

“The way the steward fell down when running after the pitch invader,” a supporter remarked.

“Shocking dive from the steward,” another person said.

“The pitch invader just stopped Ronaldo from scoring 902 goals,” penned a third. I would put him in prison for life.

After Ronaldo scored his 900th goal against Croatia and his second goal against Scotland, Portugal is leading their Nations League group.

Scott McTominay gave the visitors the lead, and former Manchester United player Bruno Fernandes levelled the score with a long-range effort.
