That happened when CR7 attempted to add a third goal as Portugal went on the attack.
After missing Ronaldo on his initial effort, the pitch invader had another opportunity to get close to his hero thanks to some unfortunate events involving his pursuer.
On the turf, a steward pursued the supporter but at a critical juncture, he slipped onto his posterior.
The fan was given the chance to approach Ronaldo more closely, but the former Real Madrid player declined and kept his distance.
Most people found the situation amusing, despite others being upset that Ronaldo was unable to add to his goal total after scoring his 901st goal of his career against the Scots.
