Our goalie’s heroics in goal have put him on the shortlist for the Player of the Month award, along with Bukayo Saka. However, the two incredible saves he made to deny Ollie Watkins and Jorgen Strand Larsen were voted as two of the best six saves from the first month of the season, and they could also win an award.

Strand Larsen’s header appeared destined for the net on the first day of play against Wolves, but our Spaniard was able to shift his body weight and get a glove on the effort to retain his clean sheet.

The ball then ricocheted off the crossbar and fell to Watkins. The England striker was set to score, but David leaped up to tip away his header from what appeared to be a helpless position on his goalline.
