The Ballon d’Or has six Real Madrid players on it. Bellingham, Mbappe, Vinicius, and a few others are among them.
These are the candidates for the Ballon d’Or in 2024. The fact that Real Madrid tops the list is not surprising.
In reality, a number of Real Madrid players have been nominated for this coveted prize, which will be presented for the first time in collaboration with UEFA and France Football.
Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. are among the favourites to win the best individual football prize, as was to be expected.
Conversely, two of the Top 30 contenders are Federico Valverde and Toni Kroos, the renowned Real Madrid star who announced his retirement this summer.
Dani Carvajal is on the list because he had a fantastic year with both Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, winning trophies with both. It’s unclear who will win.
Antonio Rudiger and Kylian Mbappe, two recent additions to the team who are vying for the Ballon d’Or in 2024, are also on the list.
Mbappe enjoyed a successful season with PSG in France; however, they were eliminated in the semi-finals of the European Championship, and France barely advanced to the final four.
Top Manchester City players like Phil Foden, Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Rodri will be their opponents.
After a fantastic season with the team, veteran Granit Xhaka of Bayer Leverkusen has also been nominated for an award.
Emi Martinez, the goaltender for Argentina and Aston Villa, is also a candidate. Along with La Albiceleste, he won the Copa America, and he finished fourth in the Premier League.
Nico Williams, a Spanish winger for Athletic Club who competed in both the UEFA Euro 2024 and the Copa del Rey, is another candidate for the honour.
The list also includes Florian Wirtz, coveted by Real Madrid, and Dani Olmo, who recently joined with Barcelona.
