‘LACKS FOCUS’ – Ryan Gravenberch handed harsh reality check by Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman after excellent start to season with Liverpool

Ryan Gravenberch received a reminder from Ronald Koeman of the midfielder’s shortcoming prior to his development at Liverpool. Koeman is the coach of the Netherlands.

Consequently, what happened?

Since Arne Slot took over as Liverpool’s new coach in place of Jurgen Klopp, Gravenberch has experienced a comeback. The Dutchman was highly praised for his performance in the Reds’ 3-0 victory against Manchester United on Sunday after making an impression in his first Premier League match of the season when the team defeated Ipswich.

Koeman was questioned about Gravenberch’s recent performances after he was included in his team for the Nations League games against Germany and Bosnia-Herzegovina. But the coach was quick to call attention to a weakness in his approach.

THOUGHS OF KOEMAN

“I have always seen the potential in him, but I believed he lacked focus; this is something that he had to improve and now it seems that he finally realises what is asked of him,” Koeman said of the midfielder during a news conference.
