Lionel Messi shares the painful decision he and his wife Antonela made to leave their dog Hulk in Barcelona and move to Miami😭😭

MLS player Lionel Messi had to pay a lot of money to have his family’s pet Bordeaux Mastiff taken away when he moved to the MLS.

An Argentine comic named Migue Granados said this weekend that the dog’s health was part of the reason for the decision to leave behind Hulk. Granados had been interviewing the 2023 World Cup winner at his home in Miami.

Following last Thursday’s interview for his show on the streaming network OLGA, Granados joked that he was going to put their pet poodle Abu in a bag and demand a large ransom. This is when he learnt about the family death.

He was shocked that Hulk wasn’t there.

When I asked him where that bull was, he said, “He’s in Barcelona. Hulk is there.” He’s getting old. “So, we had to house him in the house we own in Barcelona,” Granados said.

Messi, who is 36 years old, brought Hulk into the family as a puppy in 2016. He posted an Instagram picture of himself hugging the dog.

He wrote at the time, “New member of my family.” “Love, thank you for this lovely present.”

He and his wife Antonela Roccuzzo used to post pictures and videos of their dog on Instagram all the time. But they haven’t done that since 2021, when Messi was playing for PSG and went back to Spain to recover from an injury.

If Hulk were to move across continents in July, it would cause him a lot of stress, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner thought about that.

Messi told Granados that Hulk “is on the ⱱe³ɡe” of possibly needing to be put to sleep.

This breed of dog can get as tall as 27 inches and as heavy as 110 pounds. They live between five and eight years, but some live to be eleven.

The staff at the fancy house in Castelldefels, a neighbourhood 12 miles from Barcelona, is taking care of Hulk for now. At the same time, Messi has become a star in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the US, where he plays for Inter Miami CF.

Messi said that on school days, his family gets up at 7 a.m. for a group breakfast and drops off his three boys, Thiago, Mateo, and Ciro.

After that, he and his wife go home to take a nap or watch their favourite shows. Other days, he goes over to work out with Inter Miami in the morning.  The kids are picked up by both of them around 3 p.m., and Thiago and Mateo are taken to football practice at the club facility.

Messi was also excited about the idea of having more children.

He said, “We would like.” “The girl should come, but we’re not part of the search.”
