USELESS Mbappe: Fans blamed France forward on bringing ‘disappointed draw’ despite Vinicius Jr. tried to rescues Real Madrid

The French captain’s inability to score led to Real Madrid’s disappointing draw for the third straight game.

This is hardly the Kylian Mbappe that Real Madrid had hoped for. In a dull 1-1 tie with Las Palmas, Los Blancos’ high-profile signing was missing and made no impact for the third straight game.

The home team showed their mettle early on in the game and deserved to lead 1-0. Oli McBurnie created it with a slipping pass, and Alberto Moleiro finished it calmly into the bottom corner. Madrid seems to have lost its ability to pass the ball for prolonged stretches of time. They had a disjointed first half and were obviously inferior at the break.

However, Vinicius Jr.’s penalty shoot into the net on 68 minutes handed Carlo Ancelotti’s squad an equaliser following a terrible handball in the box. They never quite succeeded in creating a distinct opportunity after that. Mbappe squandered several chances. Vinicius chopped and stammered ineffectively.

By the end of it all, Ancelotti’s renowned front three were arguing with one another, and the league favourites had lost points for the second time in three games.

Goalkeeper & Defence

Courtois, Thibaut (6/10):

couldn’t stop the home team’s opener. made a few wise decisions to keep his team competitive.

Lucas Vazquez: 6 out of 10.

displayed some promising attacking moments, but was never able to make the game-winning pass.

Eder Militao (5/10):

Made to look rather silly for the Las Palmas opener, and was easily dispossessed on a few occassions. Yet to recover his pre-injury form.

Antonio Rudiger (7/10):

Once or twice, I found myself in odd places, but mostly, my legs recovered.

Ferland Mendy: 6 out of 10

did not accomplish anything incorrectly or correctly, and was taken out at halftime.

Midfield

Attack

Brahim Diaz (5 out of 10):

barely 71% of his passes were completed, and during his dismal 45 minutes of work, he was frequently undecided.

Mbappe Kylian (4/10):

In the first half, Cut seemed irritated and began making haphazard attempts at goal. He’d lost it a few times with his teammates. It’s not happening for him right now.

Vinicius Jr. (6/10):

Spent most of his time occupying the same spaces as Mbappe. Redeemed himself with a well-taken penalty.

Subs & Manager

Rodrygo (6/10):

lively off the bench, but lacked his customary flash of brilliance.

Fran Garcia (6/10):

Swiftly moving to the left. Undoubtedly a superior offensive option compared to Mendy.

Arda Guler (6/10):

played a few clever passes in the last three minutes. would have won an assist if Mbappe had been more disciplined in front of goal.

Carvajal Dani (N/A):

Too little time to matter.

Endrick (n/a):

Vinicius’s late legs. skipped a late shot.

5/10 for Carlo Ancelotti:

attempted to switch things up a little against weaker opponents, but ended up paying for it. For an hour, Los Blancos was second best and didn’t start it until it was too late. He must find a way to have Mbappe listen to him.

(5/10) Aurelien Tchouameni:

incredibly erroneous in parts of his demise, particularly during the initial stages. After the break, they were better, but the foundation of midfield still needs to be cleaner.

7/10 Federico Valverde:

more opportunities than anyone else, covered a lot of territory, and had a well-saved free kick.

Luka Modric (6/10):

swung around, made a good number of chances, and tried relentlessly to find a way to score in the last third, but his lack of legs proved problematic when he was without the ball. As the game went on, his influence decreased.
