FED’S A RED: Federico Chiesa pictured in LFC for the first time as Juventus winger touches down for medical with Reds looking to wrap up £12.5 MILLION deal before transfer window closes

Federico Chiesa of Juventus has agreed to join Liverpool for £10 million plus an additional £2.5 million.

After arriving at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on Wednesday at 430 p.m., the 26-year-old underwent a medical exam and signed a four-year deal.

He had taken a Cessna plane from Turin and arrived to resume negotiations with the Reds.

The player’s club had granted him permission to travel, and since he only had a year left on his deal, The Old Lady seemed determined to cash in rather than let him go away free the following summer.

Arne Slot and company are expected to offer the 26-year-old a four-year contract after Liverpool agreed on a £10 million purchase price plus £2.5 million in add-ons.

The club has agreed a fee of £10million plus around £2.5m in add-ons for Chiesa with Juventus

The club and Juventus have agreed on a £10 million purchase price for Chiesa, plus an additional £2.5 million.

Before joining Juventus, the 26-year-old started his career at Fiorentina and went on to make more than 150 appearances for I Viola in all competitions.

Despite frequent limitations due to injury, Chiesa has won two Coppa Italias while playing for the Turin club.

With nine goals in 33 Serie A games, Chiesa had the most productive season of his career at Juventus last year.

A key high point of Chiesa’s career was his participation in the Euro 2020 tournament, where he was instrumental in helping Italy win the trophy.

Chiesa did not start for the Azzurri on a regular basis at first because manager Roberto Mancini preferred alternative offensive options during the group stages.

But as the tournament went on, he steadily worked his way into the starting lineup due to his evident influence off the bench.

Chiesa was a persistent threat along the right side in the Wembley final, displaying no fear in the face of England’s defenders.

He frequently did so alone, but his ability to move the ball forward eased pressure on the Italian defenders and opened doors for his teammates.

In the 35th minute, he took on multiple England players before launching a strong effort that just missed the mark. It was one of his most memorable moments.

Sadly, Chiesa’s night came to an end in the 86th minute of the match as an injury forced him off the pitch.

Chiesa’s move to Liverpool is in the final stages with the 26-year-old forward landing in Merseyside today

Despite this, Leonardo Bonucci cancelled out Luke Shaw’s early goal to help Italy win the game on penalties and win their second European Championship.

Chiesa attracted a lot of attention and admiration for his achievements during the competition, especially in the final.
