On the home debut of their new manager, the Colombian was in scorching form, scoring and providing an assist in a convincing victory.
Luis Diaz’s scorching performance made sure Arne Slot got off to a good start at Anfield as Liverpool defeated Brentford 2-0 to maintain their perfect start under Klopp’s replacement.
After recovering the ball just outside their area, Slot’s first Premier League goal at Liverpool’s home seemed a lot like one they had scored hundreds of times under Klopp. Diogo Jota then freed Diaz, who fired a shot into the top corner.
Although Brentford posed a threat at set pieces, Liverpool looked extremely composed and focused on finding another goal in the second half. After a much longer move up the pitch, they finally grabbed it when Diaz laid the ball off and Mohamed Salah shot into the far corner.

Until he scored a perfect finish to end the game, he was a little off pace and missed a half-chance in the first half. The Egyptian scored twice in two games.
