Close friend Emi Martinez is sure that Lionel Messi can lead Argentina to victory at the World Cup in two years, even though he will be 39 years old at the time.
Messi finally reached a career goal when he helped Argentina win their third title in Qatar in 2022. He was also on the teams that won the Copa America in 2021 and earlier this year.
Messi has found his form after years of failure with the national team. Many people thought that Qatar would have been his last World Cup, but Martinez thinks that the Inter Miami star may have one more in him.
The Aston Villa custodian said, “I think he will go every year and see how he feels.” “I still believe he has what it takes to go to the World Cup.”
Some Villa fans thought that the 37-year-old Messi, who many consider to be the best player in the history of the game, might be tempted to play his last game at Villa Park because Martinez is friends with him.
Martinez, on the other hand, thinks the move never happened because of the weather in Birmingham.
“Listen, he was leaving Barcelona after a long time,” he said. It was cold and wet in Birmingham, so I don’t think he was going to come! Not a chance.
Martinez plays his old team, Arsenal, on Saturday. Both teams are trying to build on a good start to the season.
On the first weekend of the Premier League season, Arsenal beat Wolves 2-0 at Emirates Stadium, and Villa beat West Ham 2-1.
