Before the end of the summer transfer window, Arsenal will try again to bring Napoli scorer Victor Osimhen to the Premier League.
The Nigerian forward had been linked to Arsenal for a long time, but their interest in him seemed to fade while Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain kept going after him. Corriere dello Sport, on the other hand, says that the north London team has returned to the race to sign Osimhen because they want to add a new striker to their attack.
Napoli wants to get Osimhen for a lot of money. At first, they wouldn’t let him go until the full €130 million (£111 million/$145 million) release clause in his contract was activated. But now, the Serie A team has changed their mind and is ready to accept a lower fee. Getting rid of Osimhen would help them get the money they need to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
Napoli put in an offer for a swap deal, and Chelsea is still trying to get Osimhen from them. The Blues are trying to get Napoli to let Osimhen join them on loan, but the Nigerian player is said to be ready to turn down Enzo Maresca’s team to make a different move.
Napoli might be willing to let Arsenal buy the 25-year-old player, and he might decide to move to north London. At the same time, Belgian striker Lukaku will be keeping a close eye on Osimhen’s situation because he wants to work with his old Inter coach Antonio Conte again at Napoli.
