Messi was overwhelmed with happiness when he and his eldest son Thiago stepped onto the field to compete in the international youth tournament organized by Inter Miami Club on May 25. He confided: ‘This is an experience like no other’.

Messi and Suarez were rested from Inter Miami’s 2-1 win over Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the MLS on May 26. Both players stayed home but were extremely happy on this special occasion when they were able to join their sons in the youth tournament organized by the club from May 25 to May 27.

Messi and Suarez’s eldest sons, Thiago and Benjamin, are also close friends, playing in the U.12 Academy team of Inter Miami Club. As parents, the two players were also honored to lead the two youth teams, U.12 Inter Miami and Orlando City SC, onto the field.

“It’s an honor for us to be here with so many other parents who came to Chase Stadium to support their children playing football. This is an experience like no other. I have the honor of walking out on the field with my son, watching every step they take, their efforts in every play and certainly being very excited about the scoring opportunities.

I hope the parents, the young players, and the teenagers will enjoy this very special event and experience,” Messi said when speaking to nearly 10,000 spectators, including the majority of children, and parents of young players who attended the opening day of the youth tournament organized by Inter Miami Club on May 25.

“Not only me, but other parents will always sacrifice every day to take care of their children and share and support their passion for football. Pick them up and drop them off every day when they go to practice or compete. Parents always try to do everything to make their children happy and football is happiness along with many other things”, Messi shared.

He also emphasized: “Attending events with your children is a happiness. I hope you will enjoy this experience and this tournament with your friends and family. The result of winning or losing is not important, what is important is the joy of the children. Wish everyone the best and enjoy all the joy of the tournament”.

According to the US press, Messi and Suarez and their families spent the entire 3-day weekend watching the international youth matches organized by Inter Miami Club.

Another image shared by a user of social network X (formerly Twitter) shows that when Messi and his wife were on their way home after a match with their son Thiago, they were met by many other parents when they happened to stop at the traffic light on the street in Miami City and talked to each other very enthusiastically about their sons’ competition situation.
