Under Armour’s rapidly growing list of football stars now includes Nketiah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio Rudiger, and other up-and-coming goal scorers for Arsenal. The Oxford Street site is the latest in a string of successful Brand House openings that began in early 2023 with Westfield Stratford, Battersea Power Station, and Liverpool ONE. At the store launch event, Nicole Holliday, a TV host and Arsenal fan, led a Q&A with Nketiah, who grew up playing football in London.

They talked about what it takes to be a professional athlete in London and what he would tell other people who want to be athletes how to get there. Many of the UA Next Athletes who were there agreed with this. A lot of them want to play football in the Premier League.

Eddie Nketiah said, “It’s really exciting to work with Under Armour, a company that has a history of working with great athletes and who also has the same challenger mentality as me.” Through the UA Next London program, I understand what the company is doing to help young athletes reach their full potential. As a Londoner who knows what it takes to be successful in club football, I’m excited to contribute.

Ernie Nketiah said in an interview, “I always train like a beast at Arsenal—I’ll never moan and complain.”

Kara Trent, who is the Managing Director for EMEA at Under Armour, says that Eddie is a young athlete who is always pushing himself. As our group of football players grows, he will be a great addition. He will also be a great role model for the UA Next project as we try to inspire and connect with young London athletes who play team sports.

 

The City of London and the famous London Tube helped shape the decor of the Oxford Street store. The space’s original structure is covered with black and white hand-made tiles made in the area. The Under Armour name is used to show the company’s close ties to London and its athletes.
