Cristiano Ronaldo made a swift exit from the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium on Saturday, leaving behind his silver medal after Al Nassr’s 4-1 defeat in the Saudi Super Cup final.
Despite scoring the opening goal, Ronaldo’s team was overwhelmed by Al-Hilal, who scored four goals in the second half.
Ronaldo’s frustration was evident as he gestured to his teammates, suggesting they had been “sleeping” during the game.
After the final whistle, he skipped the medal ceremony and walked out of the stadium empty-handed.
Notably, Ronaldo’s last officially recognised title win was the Italian Cup with Juventus in 2021.
His triumph with Al Nassr in the 2023 Arab Club Championship Cup is not regarded by FIFA as a valid title.
In light of this incident, Ronaldo’s demeanor and commitment to his team have been called into question, especially when they are losing.
