It is said that David Beckham wants to sign Raphael Varane to Inter Miami this summer, after the defender left Manchester United.
Varane, who is 31 years old, left Old Trafford when his contract expired at the end of the season. He is now a free agent, and several teams are considering making moves to sign him.
The centre back has been asked to join Inter Miami, where he would play with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, according to The Mirror. The great Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba from Barcelona are also at Chase Stadium. They were enticed to come to the United States to join Beckham’s star-studded team.
Varane went from Real Madrid to United in July 2021 for an initial fee of £34 million. He played 93 times but was released on good terms after getting hurt a lot.
United paid £85 million for him in salary and transfer fees over three seasons, but he only played 68 times in the Premier League.
Even so, Beckham is said to be ready to pay the former France international a lot of money again in order to get more attention for his Florida-based team.
After 20 games, Inter Miami is on top of the MLS table and could sign Varane before the transfer window opens on July 18.
Varane was a loved player at United. In 2023, he won the Carabao Cup, and in his last game for the club last season, he lifted the FA Cup.
A sad video message he sent to fans before the 2-1 win over Manchester City at Wembley revealed that he would be leaving. Varane said, “It’s been an amazing few years to play for this great club and wear that shirt.” “It was crazy the first time I went to Old Trafford as a Manchester United player; the atmosphere was great.”
“Fans will always remember their trip to Wembley.” It was truly amazing to share that moment with them when we won the Carabao Cup.
“Even though we had a rough season, I’m very optimistic about the future.”
“The new owners have a great plan and are ready to strike.” I’ll see you at Old Trafford to say goodbye before our last home game of the season, which is against Newcastle. It will be a very rough day for me.
At Real Madrid, Varane won three La Liga titles, three Champions Leagues, three Spanish Super Cups, and the Copa del Rey over the course of 10 years.
