PLAYER RATING: Man Utd 0-3 Liverpool: Casemiro is too old; Rashford shows HUGE effort but not enough

Manchester United suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool. Here are our player ratings from the pre-season clash.

Andre Onana 5 – Should have done better for Liverpool’s third of the match. He was sloppy and his loose save ended up in the path of Tsimikas, who was all too happy to tap it in from close range.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka 4 – One or two big tackles but had some poor moments. Didn’t cover himself in glory for Fabio Carvalho’s strike. Offered very little going forward.

Jonny Evans 5 – Uncomfortable at times due to Liverpool’s press. Had an awkward moment on the touchline that could have dearly cost United.

Victor Lindelof 5 – Was also uncomfortable in certain instances. Not a lot of forward passing from him.

Harry Amass 4 – Baptism of fire for him against one of the best wingers in the Premier League. A shaky game although he did some things right. A valuable lesson for the youngster going forward.

Casemiro 3 – Looked like the player of last season. Passing was erratic, kept losing the ball and offered very little protection in midfield. Struggled with Liverpool’s pace and intensity. Was humiliated by Carvalho for Liverpool’s opener. Just not good enough.

Toby Collyer 6 – Won most of his duels in the middle of the park and was useful in the press. His performance was blemished by his role in Curtis Jones’ goal.

Mason Mount 5 – Had two good chances to score in the first half. Faded off in the second period.

Amad Diallo 6 – Quietest game of the tour from the Ivorian. Was good in the press but not as impactful in attack as he’s proven to be in recent matches.

Marcus Rashford 8 – Sharp and looked like a threat during the opening 45 minutes. Produced some fine pieces of skill.

Jadon Sancho 6 – Was neat and tidy with some of his actions. Didn’t have much to work with in the striker position.
