Speaking with CaughtOffside, journalist Fabrizio Romano spoke up to clarify the rumors surrounding the Anfield team.
Discussing the rumours surrounding Liverpool and Johan Bakayoko, journalist Fabrizio Romano said:
“I know there have been some reports suggesting Liverpool are targeting PSV Eindhoven’s talented young winger Johan Bakayoko , but nothing concrete has happened yet. For now, the Belgium international remains 100 per cent focused on PSV.”
Bakayoko has 6 goals and 8 assists in the Eredivisie this season.
“However, the truth is that many clubs have been monitoring Bakayoko since last summer . Scouts from top English clubs have been following him, but nothing has progressed at this point. At the end of the season, we will probably see Bakayoko assessing his options.”
“Overall, for Liverpool, it was important that they appointed a new manager before deciding on their transfer strategy. Michael Edwards is back and that is positive news for Liverpool, while Richard Hughes will be announced as their new director soon. This also looks like a great appointment.”
“But for new signings, you need a coach. So that will be the next step.”
