Before his amazing goal in the Euro 2024 semi final against France, 16-year-old Spanish star Lamine Yamal wrote the meanest post on social media.
France took a 1-0 lead at the Allianz Arena when Kylian Mbappe’s ball to the far post was met by Randal Kolo Muani’s head.
Then Yamal, who will be 17 on Saturday, tied the game with a completely shocking shot.
The Barcelona starlet cut in from the right side with his left foot like a wand and fired a shot that Mike Maignan couldn’t stop into the top corner.
Yamal became the youngest player in the history of the Euros to score a goal. It was his first goal in the tournament.
The world-class goal came after three assists and a lot of exciting play in Germany, where Yamal could be breaking an employment rule.
Before the semi-final, Rabiot, a star player for both France and Juventus, talked about Yamal and how he needed to do better than what he did in the other games to beat France.
He told the press, “Lamine Yamal will have to do a lot more against us than he has so far if he wants to play in the Euro final with Spain.”
“We’ll put stress on him to make him uncomfortable.”
But Yamal sent a mysterious message back on Instagram, just writing:
“Be quiet and only speak when it’s the end of the game,”
He certainly spoke with his feet, and he looked very at ease on the pitch in an amazing performance.
It’s very likely that Yamal will win Player of the Tournament. He was born in 2007, when Rihanna’s hit song “Umbrella” was number one on the lists.
He and the other players on La Roja have a chance to win Spain a fourth European Championship on Sunday in Berlin.
