Singer Ed Sheeran has performed at England’s training camp ahead of their Euro 2024 quarter-final clash with Switzerland.

In the journey to the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, the England team showed extremely poor performances when they failed to meet the expectations of the fans. The “billion pound” squad that coach Gareth Southgate currently owns did not show its brilliant form in the club’s shirt, along with the lack of cohesion in the playing style that made the “Three Lions” almost have to suffer .

To encourage and motivate the players, coach Gareth Southgate is said to have invited singer Ed Sheeran to visit and perform music right at the team’s camp.

The 33-year-old singer, along with his iconic guitar, performed familiar songs and helped the players enjoy a light-hearted way after tiring hours of training. In addition, a few players also had the opportunity to interact with the “Prince of love songs”, including captain Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Trent Arnold.

Ed Sheeran is famous for being a passionate England fan, often appearing in the stands, most recently in the match against Slovakia in the round of 16 of Euro 2024. The male singer could not hide his joy when witnessing the moment Jude Bellingham jumped up to hook the ball and brought the equalizer for the “Three Lions”, thereby indirectly bringing the ticket to the quarter-finals.

Previously, Ed Sheeran also appeared in the stands during England’s matches at Euro 2020 at Wembley Stadium, and this confirmed how much love the owner of the hit “Perfect” has for England.

With Southgate, the 53-year-old strategist is said to be doing everything to help the players feel as comfortable as possible. In addition to the above “healing” measures, he also allows family and friends to visit the players in the training camp after matches. 

This move by Southgate will partly help his players have the best state and mentality in the predicted difficult confrontation with Switzerland in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024.
