The first Madrid fans to make it to the quarterfinals of the European Championship were Kroos and Rüdiger, whose team beat Denmark at Signal Iduna Park. Both guys came out to play and played the whole 90 minutes. In the next round, which starts on Friday at 6 p.m. CEST, the hosts will play the winner of the match between Spain and Georgia.
Germany beat Denmark 2-0 to move on to the quarterfinals of Euro 2024. Toni Kroos and Antonio Rudiger, both of Real Madrid, played great on both teams.
Most of the time, Germany had the ball, and Kroos was in the middle of everything. In the game, he had 106 touches, which was the most. For his country, he ran the whole thing. Rudiger played great defence and did everything he could to keep his team in the game.
When the game was over, Kroos had made 91 passes, and 95% of them were accurate. He had also made four key passes, finished four out of five long balls, cleared the ball twice, made a stop, and intercepted the ball. It was a big deal that VAR didn’t let him help Nico Schlotterbeck, even though he was the main reason Germany did everything they did.
His stats show that he played very well: 82 touches, two stops, two interceptions, four clearances, four blocked shots, and 63 passes that were made 87% of the time.
Spain will play the winner of their game against Georgia next. Spain has won all of their games so far and hasn’t given up a goal. It could be very exciting to play them.
The first half was very close, but a heavy rain stopped play for more than 20 minutes. In the second half, Germany scored. In the 53rd minute, Havertz scored a penalty after VAR showed that Andersen had touched the ball too hard. This gave them the lead. A quarter of an hour later, Musiala made it 2-0, which put them in the quarterfinals.
