Diogo Jota’s potential winner for Portugal was overturned after a VAR review deemed that Cristiano Ronaldo’s shoulder was offside in the buildup.

Diogo Jota featured for Portugal as they scored a late winner in added time to defeat Czechia 2-1 in their Euro 2024 opener

The national team defeated the Czech Republic by two goals to one, in Group F match of the group stage, counting towards the 2024 European Championship

The goals came only in the second part of the meeting with the Czech Republic advancing to the score through Provod in the 62nd minute.

Soon after, a separate goal from Hraná č in the 69th minute would end the match. Diogo Jota still scored at 86′ but the goal was disallowed.

Just in time for compensation, Francisco Concei ção bottomed the beacon and won for the national team at 90+2.
