Since Saliba is right-footed, there were a few instances that needed to be handled swiftly when Austria tried to attack. However, having to use his left foot gave us the impression that Saliba was having difficulty passing the ball and wasn’t making the best decisions.
Saliba is making his big-stage debut with a partner with whom he hasn’t had any real-time fighting experience. What he’s shown so far is impressive. Saliba will adjust to the new chance Deschamps is willing to provide, I’m sure of it.
