Three minutes into the second half of his team’s friendly against Croatia, the Liverpool attacker scored from close range after coming off the bench.

Although Croatia went on to win the game 2-1, Jota’s second goal in as many Euro 2024 warm-up matches cancelled out Luka Modric’s early penalty. In the meantime, Dominik Szoboszlai led Hungary to a 3-0 triumph against Israel at home..

The Reds midfielder was replaced just before the hour mark, but he later stated that his absence was only a precaution because his team’s opening encounter of the European Championship is only one week away.

Szoboszlai said, “I’ll be alright,” to M4 Sport. I came off since my legs were a little stiff and I didn’t want to take any chances.
